The Initiatory Path in Fairy Tales | Part 7

Why did the hero cross the road? To begin the Great Work!

We continue reading Bernard Roger's The Initiatory Path in Fairy Tales: The Alchemical Secrets of Mother Goose. He continues his de-coding of Fairy Takes through the lens of Freemasonry and Alchemy. More often than not, the protagonist sets out on a quest. Roger breaks down the common themes, or plot devices, and connects the symbolism around fairy tale quests. There are universal themes in quest scenes that correspond to The Great Work and the Sacred Masculine. The quests, found in fairy tales, symbolise taking right action in the world and overcoming adversity in the name of good.
