Gino, I need some clarification about the part where it is stated the “details of the plot are inconsequential”. It’s mentioned by the author which you agreed with in your commentary. How is that so? How are the details of the plot inconsequential? I’m not being picky, I just want to understand that better. Thank you!!
Thank YOU! :) I felt like she meant we "don't need to nitpick or intellectualize". I believe this phrase, “details of the plot are inconsequential” was the turning point in her writing. She could have then "zoomed in" to the symbolism and deeper meaning of the story. Instead she "zoomed out" to a broader and more literal picture of the daughter as the oppressed ie. the female being oppressed by the patriarchal system in the fairy tale. Which is of course terrible and tragic! Does that make sense? It's like looking at the inversion of the bigger picture. Maybe I'm over-cooking things!
Okay! Yes, that does make sense… I see what you mean. Thank you! It’s so easy to apply the feminist angle to most fairytales. Making such a simple analysis persuades people to dismiss it and not realize its’ potential to teach and shape our young people into critical thinkers. Really good point!!

Thank you for highlighting the contrast between the esoteric and exoteric or literal version Gino! It’s becoming easier to recognize. 😀
Also, Steiner’s 3 systems are interesting and knowing we have a helper! I read many fairytales to my daughter while growing up, but I wasn’t aware at the time these ideas. I want to try to reintroduce them to her with these concepts.

And thanks for the shout-out by the way!! 😀
