Fairy Tales are Violent Part Two (Reasons for Eliminating Fairy Tales)

We do not have the right to remove Fairy Tales from the lives of children. It's like feeding children, we don't have the right to starve them. Fairy Tales are nutrition for the soul!

Exploring the patterns in "The Blade of Straw, The Coal and The Bean", thanks to Marie-Louise von Franz, shows us the duality and closeness of things that might seem opposing or separate. Funerals become wonderful celebrations. Joyous parties become angry brawls. The episode aims to lead you to the concept that attempting to eliminate "violence", from children's books and real-life, is also an (unconscious) attempt to eliminate joy, humour and laughter from children when they are older. Domineering, negatively-reinforcing and "preventative" parents (who also misunderstand violence) usually aren't much fun to be around and lack a sense of humour!
