Avoid Polyester Clothing to Counteract Doomsurfing
The force associated with technocratic social media use is pushing us to materialistic self-destruction, and polyester clothing is the uniform of our flailing team - humanity.
If you upload a video of yourself eating an apple, you might just become crowned the Apple King. You might also fall victim to attack campaigns against you, by "concern trolls". Because, after all, the Banana Telegram Group might consider you racist toward the Banana Movement. Also, why do you always eat green apples? Every time people re-watch that video, your apple is always green! That's lacking variety, let alone being racist to other colours of apples.
You see, social media use is hyper-materialistic, territorial, tribal and literal. One line or one shot is perceived as the totality of who you are, your life story, your passion, your brag, your goals, your expertise and so on. This hyper-materialism is, in my opinion, part of the currently dominating Ahrimanic force that Rudolf Steiner predicted and shared in his lectures during beginning of the 20th century. Ahriman is the spirit of darkness in the Persian mythological pantheon. Steiner considers Ahriman to have materialised by around 2023 to remove our soulfulness, sense of spirituality, and ultimately feed off our souls. According to Steiner, explained in his 1919 lecture on Ahriman and Lucifer, "Everything that is developing as intellectual life without being suffused by warmth of soul, without being quickened by enthusiasm, directly furthers the incarnation of Ahriman in a way that is after his own heart. It lulls men to sleep in the way I have described, so that its results are advantageous to Ahriman." Ahriman is materialistic, scientific and without spirit. Ahriman ultimately wants us to steer clear of holistic well-being and be comfortably numb. The term technocracy has been popularised and realised around this time of the Ahrimanic force. We are also experiencing the “encrappening” and “slop” of the internet, admittedly our lives, in this era.
The opposing force of Ahriman is Lucifer, the heady, intuitive, thoughtful, spiritual arch-nemesis of the materialistic, scientific and intellectual Ahriman. Both forces can be harmful to humans if left unchecked into a state of imbalance. Balance is the key here as Steiner explained whenever talking about these forces. They are forces that we have to live with, not yield to, but to recognise and work on balancing their qualities within ourselves. To put it in simile: Lucifer could write a book, and Ahriman could be the printing machine. Ahriman couldn't come up with the story, but can mechanically copy it. Furthermore, Ahriman's impulse is to swindle the rights of the book and do away with the "unnecessary" author of the book altogether.
So, what does polyester clothing have to do with any of this? Removing polyester clothing from your wardrobe is one small step to tip the scales against the ascending Ahrimanic force, the technologically tyrannical life we live in our current times. How? Polyester clothing is an endocrine disruptor, causing infertility. Polyester is also bad for the environment and the body as it releases microplastics. What looks and feels like a soft stylish shirt is deceptively damaging upon further thought and investigation. Furthermore, polyester holds a negative charge, causing static shocks to the wearer. This is in opposition to the practice of earthing where someone would walk on the earth in bear feet so the body absorbs the negative charge of the earth. Earthing is a way of connecting to spirit, better thoughts and ideas which is where the connection lies between Ahriman and polyester clothing. Purging polyester clothing from the wardrobe promotes the possibility of proper electrical charge of the body, from the earth bringing the soul back. Some say that earthing is a way of connecting our spiritual selves to our daily life, which is exactly what Ahriman strives to prevent. I think one very good, simple solution to the Ahrimanic explosion is making conscious choices with clothing.
Imagine a polyester dress shirt, Ahriman and Lucifer. Ahriman would be the seamstress robot, who soullessly churns out dress shirt after dress shirt. A dress shirt that looks and feels great… with no question or consideration of it's origins or effect on the wearer or the environment. It is what it is, and that's that. Lucifer would be the discerning, conscious shopper. While with too much Luciferian energy, we may never find the most moral clothing to wear and get stuck down the spiritual rabbit hole! However, with a balanced dose of Luciferian force we can discover a connection to polyester being anti-spiritual because it blocks our electro-magnetic earth connection. So, we can make a choice to wear natural fibres such as cotton or wool to step further away from the Ahrimanic frequency. Engage in a bit of earthing and we would be well on our way to balancing out all that time spent on the material, on social media and on the Ahriman force itself.
